Marion Priscilla Short | Neurogenetics Educator
The brain is an endlessly fascinating organ, so much so, that Dr. Marion Priscilla Short has dedicated her career to researching and teaching about neurology and medical genetics for more than 30 years.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Bryn Mawr College in 1973, Dr. Short earned her next diploma at the University of Edinburgh in 1975. She returned to the United States to earn an M.D. from the Medical College in Pennsylvania. In addition to these degrees, Dr. Short has a diploma from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Neurology.
From 1986 to 1995, Dr. Short worked as a fellow and assistant neurologist for Massachusetts General Hospital. Overlapping during the early 1990s, Dr. Short also worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Neurology from Harvard Medical School. From 1995-2000, she found her calling as an assistant professor with the University of Chicago. She worked intermittingly at the University of Chicago in various positions up until the 2000s.
